A2 Size Paper: Size, Dimensions, and Uses

This is the biggest A Paper format and is measured twice as A3. Because this paper is used for architectural drawings, diagrams and medium-sized posters, the printer used here is very expensive. It is part of a range of page sizes called ISO 216 standard.

The measurement of an A2 paper is 420 x 594 mm i.e. 42×59.4 cm. When you cut it in the half, it creates two A3 papers. It can also fit into an envelope of C2. when you fold A2 in half, it can fit into the C3 envelope. A2 size in inch is 16.5 x 23.4 inches

A2 Size Picture Resolution

In order to see an image properly, there is a minimum resolution needed. At 300  PPI, the picture should be 4960×7016 pixels. This resolution is required for printing that can be viewed by books, blueprint, magazines, brochures, menu, calendars etc.

For images, somewhat 200 to 220 DPI is required for good pictures. A point to note is that AZ paper printings are done on a single side only.

At 150 pixels per inch, the pictures should be 2480 x 3508 pixels. It is the minimum resolution required for posters, newspapers, or from a thing that can be viewed from a short distance.

A good digital camera with a resolution of 16 megapixels or more is used to print good quality A2 size images because these images are seen from a larger distance. 

What is A3 Size Paper?

When you cut an A3 paper, it creates two A4 papers. It can fit into a C3 envelope. This is used for drawings, large tables, diagrams. A3 measures 11.69 × 16.54 inches. A3 is a range of page sizes called ISO 216 standard.

In order to get a good image, there is a requirement of minimum resolution. 

At 300 PPI, the image should be 3508 x 4961 pixels. This resolution is required for printing that can be viewed by books, blueprints, magazines, brochures, menus, calendars, etc.

At 150 pixels per inch, the image should be 1754 x 2480 pixels. It is the minimum resolution required for posters, newspapers, or from a thing that can be seen from a short distance. 

There is a need of having a decent digital camera with a 12 megapixels resolution or more to print better quality A3 size pictures because these images are seen from a larger distance. You can also use a camera with 8 megapixels as it can also offer a decent quality.
